Some Interesting Facts About Dr. William Paulus
Dr. William Paulus grew up in Fort Worth, TX. He went to the University
of Texas on a swimming scholarship and while there he became a member
of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team that was not allowed to go to the
Olympics in Moscow due to President Carter's boycott because of
the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. In fact, had Dr. Paulus swum
the same times he won the Olympic Trials with, he would have easily
won two gold medals at the Olympics. He also held the World Record
in the 100 meter butterfly for more than two years.
After college, Dr. Paulus received his dental degree from Baylor College
of Dentistry in Dallas. His orthodontic residency was at Saint Louis University
Medical Center, the largest and one of the most prestigious orthodontic
programs in the world. Dr. Paulus graduated with honors in June 1994 and
immediately went into practice with his father, Dr. Peter Paulus, who
has since retired. Dr. Paulus senior successfully treated more than ten
thousand patients and helped pioneer modern surgical orthodontic techniques
while working with some of the world's leading oral and maxillofacial
surgeons. Dr. William Paulus is a Diplomate of the American Association
of Orthodontists. He is a board certified member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
